Finishing the Piping - Tutorial

I have been spending some time making Swoon bags.  I made an Ethel (no piping) and then a Betty with piping.  I read the piping tutorial that's up on the Swoon site which was great, but I really didn't like how my piping ended on Betty.

Gates Progress

I have been sewing a lot, but I have not been writing at all.  Gates is a little more complicated than I expected.  Here's some of what I did today:

I put the windows on 5 of the 10 building squares.

January...

It seems like I have done little over break.  When you look at the pictures below, all of the seams I pulled out are not obvious.  I sewed the jeans down (partially) 3 times.  I basted the flyers on then sewed them on for real.  The soles, I finished today.  Before I can put the soles on, I need to be sure the jeans are where I want them to be because once the soles go down, I do not want to pull them off.

The craft fair worked out pretty well.  I sold quite a few Holiday Cards and a couple of record cards.  I even sold a shirt!

I have been working on making things to sell at a craft fair next weekkend.  If you are interested, I will be at Baere Brewing Saturday 12/20 selling greeting cards. I will have some holiday record cards, card packs, holiday cards, and love notes.  I'm hoping to have time to make up some fabric flowers too.

Digger Progress!

I spent some time on the flyer portion of the quilt.  This is the part that represents the wall.  Look at the photo below.  The flyers go where the ugly tannish color is.

Bags and Bags

I made some bags in hopes of stoking my confidence before starting the Digger quilt in ernest.  The above photo is of today's bag.  It's a little on the heavy side.  The pattern I used called for silk, and I used flannel.  It's pretty cool though.

Fabric is Here!

My Spoonflower fabric has ARRIVED!  I am very happy to say that it looks awesome.  I can now begin the production of the Digger quilt.

Destruction to Creation

This was once my favorite shirt.  When I was in my early 20's, I wore this nearly out.  Long ago, I put it away.  In our current house, it's been hanging in the hall closet ever since we moved in (7ish years ago).  I have not worn it in way more than 10 years.  Today, I destroyed it in hopes of making something else.

Shirt Complete!

I made my deadline.  Thank goodness.  Phil's shirt turned out pretty cool.

The back is pretty cool too.  I added color to the sleeves.
