Back to School and a Challenge
So I've got a plan. A good plan? I don't know. I go back to work (school) in a couple days, so I've been cooking up an idea.
I've made it to about 90% homemade wardrobe. So I thought I would challenge myself. I want to wear something me made, something different, every day to work. I'm thinking about not including the weekends. I want to see how long my me made wardrobe lasts. It will also force me out of my ruts. I tend to wear the same things over and over out of sheer laziness. Starting on August 16th, I'm going to wear something different every day to school until I run out. Now, I've been wondering about... like repeating a pair of pants but not the shirt so it's a different outfit, but I will repeat some things, right. Is that cheating? What about adding a Ready To Wear piece? Can I do that? Hmmmmmmm..............
How long can I make it? I was thinking of making a weekly post in Instagram. Daily seems a bit much.
I WANT to make it 6 weeks, but that means I need 30ish outfits. Dress down days are going to be weird. Do they count? We have at least one holiday in the first 6 weeks too, so that will help.
First day of school?
or
I dunno yet.
Another reason to do this - this article about how people only wear about 50% of their wardrobe. Who know if it's acurate, but it IS something to think about. I have tons of clothes that I have made and never worn. Maybe this challenge will change that.
Anyone want to join me? Start August 16th. Leave me a comment or send me an email!
I am also on a fabric diet. It is going ok. Sigh.
And the biggest news...I started selling woven labels!!!!!!!!!!!! Check 'em out.
I have 2 designs up in the shop right now. Go see them at www.intotheseamlabels.com.
WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finished listening to Trejo by Danny Trejo. Yes, you should listen to it. It's amazing.
As for music, this week has been hectic, so I've only listened to the August Sewing Playlist a little and some Frank Turner. He really makes the world better. "Mary" by ALL continues to be and forever will be the BEST song (it's on the August Playlist).
I guess I'll just add one of my favorites "The Lioness".
