Doing Stuff for Other People Continued

I finally got 2 skirts made up for Skirting the Issue.  I made two very simple gathered skirts.  I really like the stripes.  My 5 year old picked out this fabric.

I love the flowers in this next one.

Last week, I quilted during the day and worked on this dress at night.  I bought the awesome Ghastlies fabric at least 2 years ago, and I always figured I'd make this dress which is a Kay Whitt design!  It's a McCall's pattern #6123.  I am done with patterns from McCalls for awhile I think.  I ended up putting on some decorative buttons to cover up a mistake.  You can't see it in the picture.

In the past couple of days some things have come together for me about helping others.  In my last quilting post, I discussed wanting to listen to the Anxious and Angry podcast, and I linked to an Off With Their Heads song.  Today, Dying Scene posted a link to an indiegogo campaign started by Ryan Young of Off WIth Their Heads.

Summer of No Pants 2014 - Post #3

Yesterday I dug out some scraps of fabric and made a skirt.  I didn't have too high of hopes.  I really just wanted to keep moving on my Summer of No Pants list.  I found some fabric that was gifted to me, and I pulled out my hemp/cotton/recycled poly muslin that I've been keeping around, and I drew out a pattern.  I knew that the muslin was VERY see through, so in my head I envisioned a skirt with the gifted fabric sort of laying on top of the muslin to cover my rear end.

Summer of No Pants 2014 - Post #2

I finally finished my first dress for Summer of No Pants 2014!  This is the Naomi from Kay Whitt.  You can find the pattern here.  I love Kay Whitt's patterns and have made quite a few over the last two years or so.  I found this one challenging.  I struggled with the bias trim under the sleeves and with the waistband. I am usually mini skirt or ankle skirt kinda woman, but I made this one fall just below the knee.
