Dress Like Your Grandma
Before I get started, Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs came out today. I am going to try to NOT read it in a day or two. Trying to distract myself...
I have decided to take part in the Dress Like Your Grandma sewing challenge. Here is a photo of my great grandma.
She is wearing the same dress in multiple photos from multiple decades. She must have made these herself. It looks fairly simple, so I think I can do it. This version has a square neck and applique roses at the neck and on the two pockets that aren't very visible here. I plan to add embroidery to mine in those same places. I have picked a mushroom and a fairy from the Sublime Stitching pattern - Gnomes and Fairies.
She has a shirt dress on in a few photos. I may also make that one, but I just finished 2 shirt dresses, so it's not high up on my list.
