"Under The Sun" preparing to quilt

This "Under The Sun" quilt has really kicked my butt.  I expected this to be done long ago.  The quilt top is done.  I put a 2" black border around it which doesn't show in the photos.  I need to get some batting, and I will begin quilting soon.  As for music, I've been all over the place.  Lots of Damn Mondays and Off With Their Heads.  Scott Reynolds sent me my download code for his new album yesterday.  After a half an hour of trying to figure out how the hell to open it, I still haven't listened to it.  I imagine I'll be listening to that while working this week.

When I was working on the "Broken Pieces" quilt, we listened to that song in the car every other day or so, but I haven't listened to "Under The Sun" in days now.  It's a crazy song.  Immediatly, it takes me away.  Sometimes while listening, I am focused on the lyrics, and sometimes I get lost.  I get lost in that part of my head where suburbia lives.  Often I stop hearing the song all together.

The quilt top looks exactly how I wanted it to.  It's quite beautiful.  I am a little afraid of ruining its beauty with the quilting.  I know that's crazy!  I finally got a walking foot, and I am excited to try it out.  I hope it helps to reduce the puckering.

We'll see where I'm at in a few days, but I am not sure I am going to get these quilts done by the end of summer.  I cut out the majority of the Gates quilt, and I even started sewing.  The picture below shows what little work I've done on it.

My summer officially ends on August 7, but the calendar says the last day of summer is September 22.  Maybe I can get all 5 done by then?

A few weeks ago, I had Huge on repeat.

I am kind of liking the pattern that you are trying to come up with. I am looking forward to seeing the completed work soon enough. I am having a magicard rio pro 360 gut feeling that this is going to be just amazing.
